SPORTS INJURIES

Muscles move and stabilise joints, which in turn affects your athletic performance and ability to stay injury-free. For example a footballer can suddenly find  himself with hamstring problems and not be able to play. The question is why the sudden hamstring problems?

Through applied kinesiology  (muscle testing)  we would identify the weak hamstring and find  the cause to be a low back or pelvic problem,or even a neck or cranial problem. In such a case, working directly on the weak hamstring is not going to do anything for that patient's long term recovery. Working on the cause of the weakness eg. low back, will enable that muscle to work properly. The cause of recurrent injuries is often due to the fact that the practitioner has not evaluated muscle strength/balance around the affected joint. Soft tissue manipulation may make the muscle feel better but is it really able to work at its full potential? The answer is no, when the cause has not been corrected.

When a muscle is not working at its potential it will get tired and sore far quicker than normal. Through applied kinesiology the cause of that weak muscle will be found. In many cases correcting the cause of the weak muscle has not been found and so the injury keeps recurring or persists. Remember, muscles move and stabilise joints.
